Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants and guests of the 14th Congress of Regional Children’s Rights Commissioners
The message reads, in part:
“Your forum has gathered in Belgorod commissioners from many regions, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, media representatives, prominent cultural figures, researchers, teachers and people of the arts. This broad public attention is a convincing testament to the importance of the problems under discussion and the necessity of the institution of children’s rights commissioners in our country.
The forum’s agenda includes an essential theme: Protection of a child’s right to live and be brought up in a family as a priority of the state family policy. I would like to note that previous years have seen considerable work done to protect children’s interests, promote family values, support families with many children and refine the body of law in this sphere. To ensure that your efforts are as effective as possible, we should build up the cooperation of the commissioners’ institution with state authorities and volunteer organisations, and implement the mass media’s sizeable potential to the fullest extent possible.”
