Instructions following visit to Sirius Educational Centre

The President approved a list of instructions following his visit to the Sirius Educational Centre in Sochi on August 6, 2019.

The instructions to the Russian Government concern, in particular, the provision of Presidential grants to people who demonstrated outstanding talent and have enrolled to receive training in the field of physical fitness and sports; the creation of regional centres that would discover, support and develop skills and talents in children and young people; as well as the provision of funding from the federal budget to CIS citizens for studying Science and Sports at the Sirius Educational Centre.

The Ministry of Education was instructed to include in the new federal state educational standard of basic general education the provisions related to advanced studying of mathematics and computer science, as well as to implement measures aimed at increasing accessibility of advanced maths and computer science studies for all general education institutions and organising additional training for teachers.

Instructions to the Ministry of Culture concern holding by the Talent and Success Foundation of art competitions and festivals and organising additional professional training for teachers in this field.

The Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Sport and the Talent and Success Foundation are to submit proposals on the improvement of the list of school Olympiads, competitions and events aimed at developing intellectual and creative abilities, sports, interest to research, engineering, technology, invention, promoting scientific knowledge, creative and sports achievements, and inviting leading experts in education, science, arts, physical fitness and sports to take part in compiling such list.

The Sochi City Administration, with the support of the Talent and Success Foundation, was given separate instructions to create and develop the Sirius Innovative Research and Technology Centre.
