The President talked by phone with 8 year-old Kristina Sin from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, a participant in the New Year Tree of Wishes charity campaign.
Vladimir Putin fulfilled the dream of a second-form girl who wanted to see Lake Baikal. Kristina spent several days at the lake with her parents, went on excursions to museums and to the riverhead of Angara. At the Baikal Museum, she took a virtual submarine dive to the bottom of the lake and learned about the origins of Lake Baikal as well as its flora and fauna. The girl shared her impressions of the trip with the President in a telephone conversation.
The President congratulated Kristina on the New Year and wished her success in her studies and sports (Kristina does sports aerobics and has achieved first junior category).

On December 4, Vladimir Putin again joined the New Year Tree of Wishes national charity campaign at the venue of the #WeAreTogether international prize. He picked three ornaments containing cards with New Year wishes from children in difficult situations.
The President has already fulfilled the wish of 13 year-old Kseniya Mazneva from St Petersburg who performed as a news presenter, and the wish of 11 year-old Nikita Miroshnichenko from Kostroma who wanted to visit the Hermitage Museum.
