Greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the 2nd Russian Children's Folkloriada, a folklore festival that opened in Kazan.
The message reads, in part:
“Treasuring and respecting our unique historical, cultural and spiritual heritage is one of the key state priorities. Folk art supports the link between times and generations, fosters love for the Motherland, and respect for national customs and traditions. It is therefore encouraging that your wonderful project has become a regular fixture, bringing together more and more talented children from various Russian regions every year. Apart from its noble mission, this project is a real celebration of friendship, communication and art for the young participants.
I firmly believe that these warm, heartfelt folk songs, performances by folk choirs and dance groups will touch everyone’s feelings and will be long remembered by both performers and spectators.”
