Vladimir Putin called Arina Porkhal, a ninth-grader from the city of Gorlovka, a participant in the New Year Tree of Wishes charity event.
Arina gets high grades at school, is keen on graphic design and loves music.
The President helped fulfil Arina's wish of travelling to St Petersburg. Together with her older sister and nephew, Arina came to the city on the Neva River for the first time, saw its most impressive landmarks, visited museums, attended a ballet performance and an ice show.
The President wished Arina and her family a Merry Christmas.

In December 2024, during the #WeAreTogether International Awards Ceremony, Vladimir Putin once again joined the New Year Tree of Wishes nationwide charity campaign and picked three ornaments from the tree with New Year's wishes from the children who found themselves in a challenging life situation.
