A youth construction teams’ headquarters was launched in Arkhangelsk and a multi-purpose youth centre was commissioned in the village of Khuchni, Tabasaran District, Daghestan. The New Prospects youth centre was also opened in the town of Kavkazky, Prikubansky District, Karachayevo-Circassia. Meanwhile, the Schaslivtsevo art community was incorporated into the Tavrida art cluster project in Genichesk, Kherson Region.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Greetings, friends,

First of all, my best wishes to you on Youth Day. This holiday is permeated with youth vitality, spirit of hope, creativity and new opportunities, an eye to the future.

It is excellent that our country celebrates it. I see it as a testament to your and your peers’ huge and meaningful role in Russia’s life. The country is dynamically developing, building and pursuing plans for decades to come with your active engagement.

All the regions are holding Youth Day festivals today. Omsk and Perm, the cities designated as youth capitals for this year, celebrate it with a special attitude.

It is certainly great that the holiday which includes, among other things, various lectures, workshops and educational events proceeds with a lot of benefit and contributes to building a single modern space all across the country to facilitate young people’s self-attainment and development.

Today we are opening youth centres in various parts of Russia – Daghestan and Karachayevo-Circassia, the Khabarovsk Territory, the Arkhangelsk Region and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area; whereas in the Kherson Region a branch of the Tavrida art cluster with a symbolic name of Schaslivtsevo starts operating which is definitely a milestone event.

I believe that these centres will become points of attraction for numerous young people – schoolchildren, teenagers and college students, will help them make new friends and gain new knowledge, find encouragement from like-minded persons and mentors which means making the first step towards their dream.

We specially focus and will keep focusing on creating conditions for everyone to fully tap into their potential because this will determine what will become of our country in the middle and the second half of the 21st century. It is you, young people, who are destined to carry on your parents’ and ancestors’ job in the broadest meaning of the word – to write and create the history of our Motherland, its future achievements and successes.

Let me remind you that as of the beginning of this year, the Youth and Children national project was launched. This new project brings together and develops best practices and harbours a tremendous range of opportunities for self-realisation.

I should note that as of today, over 150 modern youth spaces have been launched across the country as part of the Region for The Young programme, including in rural areas and small towns. By 2030, there will over 500 such education and development centres.

I want to stress that all our projects are interconnected and engage youngsters of all ages. This continuity and consistency are very important.

Thus, starting from elementary school, children are sincerely welcome in the Movement of the First, which already unites more than 11 million people. Schoolchildren and college students can try their hand at the Bolshaya Peremena contest; those who study at universities can go for the Russian national student project, Your Move. And there is a grant system working for those who are already prepared to implement their own initiatives. And of course, the revived Znaniye (Knowledge) Society, has become a reliable support for all those aspiring for professional, personal and creative growth.

As far as initiatives are concerned, we see that it is young people, their energy, and their zeal to serve their people and country that is the main driving force behind many volunteer initiatives. Your care, sincerity and purity of thought and desire to be useful to people deserve sincere gratitude and full support.

I know how actively the We Are Together volunteers help residents of Donbass and Novorossiya, Kursk and Belgorod Regions, and other regions, sometimes embark on humanitarian missions to areas where the special military operation is taking place and participate in emergency relief operations putting their lives at risk.

Increasingly more numerous young people join the volunteer movement every year. And, let me reiterate, we will continue to provide comprehensive support to the development of volunteerism.

Separately, I would like to congratulate young men who are fulfilling their duty in the special military operation zone, our heroes, who are young people yet veterans already, who are now becoming mentors for the younger generation.

Dear friends, you set the most important moral guidelines through your own example. With your work, your life, you prove what an all-conquering force lies in the love for the Fatherland, in your willingness to put the Motherland above all in any situation.

I said it many times: I think it is extremely important to actively engage such people in work with young people for them to see who they really should look up to.

Thus, young participants in the Time of Heroes programme, who gained unique experience at the forefront, are already heading non-governmental organisations for children and teenagers, joining specialised federal and regional structures.

Friends,

With your tireless energy, initiatives, and willingness to get involved in resolving the most difficult tasks, you, like our entire younger generation, set the general pace of moving forward, already taking responsibility for specific transformations that people need, turning into reality what seemed only a dream until recently.

I sincerely wish you great success. And we will continue to do everything to make sure you see and become convinced in practice: Russia is indeed a country of limitless opportunities.

I would like to, once again, congratulate you on Youth Day. I am now giving the floor to you.
