Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office and Chairman of the Council for Interethnic Relations Presidium Magomedsalam Magomedov and Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service and Chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin took part in the National Youth History Forum My Country. My History. My Victory.
The Victory Museum summed up the results of the National Youth History Forum My Country. My History. My Victory, which took place as part of the 17thMy Country – My Russia National Contest, one of Russia – Land of Opportunity presidential platform projects.
Taking part in the forum were the winners in the contest in the history category timed for the Year of Memory and Glory who presented their projects aimed at popularising historical memory, improving civic identity and spiritual and moral education of Russia’s younger generation.
Addressing the forum participants and guests, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Magomedsalam Magomedov noted that over the years the contest My Country – My Russia has established itself as an excellent launching pad for energetic and proactive young people united by patriotism and a desire to be useful. In the year of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, the category My Country. My History. My Victory has rightfully become the most important and numerous one, and the young participants’ wide geography, coverage, activity and interest are contributing to the common cause of preserving the memory of the combatants and victorious nations, preventing manifestations of Nazism in any form and consolidating the unity of Russia’s multi-ethnic people.
In his remarks, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service and Chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin noted that the current history forum is a good opportunity to exchange experience, learn something new and jointly try to outline new areas of activity, come up with new interesting formats of historical education that will be popular with the youth and will effectively and reliably protect the historical truth.
Following the official part of the forum, the participants and guests laid flowers in the Hall of Memory and Grief in gratitude to the Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War.
