Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences to Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh following terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
The President’s message reads, in part:
“It was with great sorrow and shock that I learnt of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, which have killed and injured dozens of people.
Such barbarous crimes aimed against the very foundations of a civilised society cause to feel indignation and draw worldwide condemnation. Nothing can justify these acts, and their masterminds must be found and duly punished.
The crime committed in India proves the need for joining efforts in the fight against terrorism.
Please pass on my condolences and words of sympathy to the victims’ families and my best wishes for a speedy recovery to all who were injured.”
