Dmitry Medvedev sent a message of congratulations to President of China Hu Jintao on the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The message reads, in part:
“Without doubt, China's achievements over the past years can be described as outstanding. I am confident that the Chinese people will continue to successfully meet the challenges of sustainable development and prosperity of their state.
We value the close and mutually beneficial relations of the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership. Our meetings in 2011 as part of the BRICS Summit in April and during your state visit to Russia in June gave a significant impetus to our joint efforts to promote cooperation in all areas.
The implementation of the agreements we have achieved will undoubtedly ensure continued development of cooperation in trade, the economy, science and technology, humanitarian initiatives and other fields.
The coordination of our countries’ positions and approaches on major issues on the global and regional agenda has gained great importance in international politics, and not only in the bilateral format but also as part of such increasingly authoritative international organisations as the SCO and BRICS. Equally vital in the current situation is Russian-Chinese cooperation in the United Nations, as well as in the Group of Twenty, APEC and other multilateral forums.
I am confident that Russian-Chinese constructive and fruitful dialogue at the highest level will continue to contribute to the deepening of multifaceted ties between our two countries for the benefit of our peoples and in the interest of stability and security in the world.”
