President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev: Mr President,
I am very glad to meet with you again. We are continuing the tradition of regular contacts, as this is our fifth meeting this year. Today, here in Seoul, we will discuss bilateral relations and, of course, the preparations for the G20 Summit.
I would like to thank you for the hospitality extended to our delegation during my visit to the People’s Republic of China. That visit included three points on China’s map of: Dalian, Beijing and Shanghai. It was very interesting and, I think, made a useful contribution to deepening our relations.
I would like us to use this short meeting to touch base and look at our plans for future contacts and the issues on the agenda of the traditionally friendly Chinese-Russian relations of strategic partnership and cooperation.
President of China Hu Jintao (retranslated): Mr President,
It is a pleasure to meet with you again.
Your visit to our country was very successful. During this visit, we reached important agreements on a number of critical issues, including deepening the strategic partnership and cooperation across the board, thus giving an impetus to the development of Russian-Chinese relations. Relevant government agencies, as well as regions of our country, are actively implementing the contracts and agreements signed by us. I am fully satisfied with this state of affairs.
