Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, at the Brazilian side’s initiative.
The discussion focused on the further development of bilateral strategic partnership in the political, trade and economic spheres. The parties also outlined future contacts at various levels.
Due to the transfer of the BRICS chairmanship from Russia to Brazil in 2025, the mutual commitment to closely coordinate positions on the entire extensive agenda of the BRICS activities was confirmed.
The leaders discussed the current situation in the world, including in connection with the new US administration coming to power.
The issues related to settling the Ukrainian conflict were also touched upon.
