Dmitry Medvedev and the European Council President discussed in detail the situation with negotiations on Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation. Mr Van Rompuy voiced his support for Russia joining the organisation by the end of 2011, stressing that this is a top priority, and indicated readiness to meet Russia halfway in resolving the remaining issues still to be settled.
Mr Medvedev thanked Mr Rompuy for his constructive attitude and said he hoped for a successful conclusion to the negotiations very soon.
