Vladimir Putin will hold talks on August 28 with President of South Africa Jacob Zuma, who is in Russia on a working visit.
Ahead of the Mixed Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation meeting in November, the two leaders will discuss opportunities for developing the strategic partnership between Russia and South Africa. The main subjects of discussion will include expanding bilateral investment ties and increasing bilateral trade, in particular through increasing imports of agricultural produce from South Africa. The talks will focus in particular on multilateral cooperation within the BRICS group and implementation of the decisions reached at the BRICS summit in Brazil in July.
The two presidents will also exchange views on a number of current international and regional issues.
