During a working trip to the Republic of Altai, Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Acting Governor of Altai Territory Alexander Karlin.
The region’s socioeconomic situation was the subject of discussion. Mr Karlin said that industrial and agricultural production growth figures for the first six months of 2014 are slightly higher than the national average. The industrial production index stands at 103.7 percent, and agriculture is at 102 percent. Investment is up by around a third for the first six months of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013. Wages in the region are growing. Major investment projects are underway in agriculture, and the food and processing sectors.
