The socioeconomic situation in the republic was the subject of discussion.
In particular, Mr Mamsurov briefed the President on work to replace imported seeds in the agriculture sector. The republic has restored its own seed-growing research in cooperation with Switzerland for potato seeds, and in cooperation with Serbia for corn. The republic is also carrying out the Affordable and Comfortable Housing programme. Children’s sport was another subject of discussion. Mr Mamsurov said that 20 new sports facilities have been built in the last year alone. Three new large multi-purpose sports centres were ready for use at the end of last year: one, with a swimming pool, at the university, and two in district centres. More than 7,000 children are training at sports schools.
