Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Kaluga Region Governor Anatoly Artamonov to discuss the socioeconomic situation in the region.
The Governor informed the President that industry in the region will show a 2 percent growth by the end of the year. Agriculture is also showing positive development. A project to build 100 robot-tended dairy farms in the region is being implemented, along with projects in beef stock farming and vegetable growing. The annual growth of investment is expected at about 7 percent. Twelve major production facilities have been commissioned in the region, including a cement plant and a pharmaceutical factory. An engine plant will be commissioned next year. Renovation works at the local airport are almost complete.
