Dmitry Medvedev had a telephone conversation with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.
Mr Key told Mr Medvedev about the work undertaken in New Zealand after the destructive earthquake in February this year, and thanked Russia for the solidarity it showed.
Discussing bilateral relations, both leaders said they were happy with the steady development in ties and the joint efforts to find ways of expanding trade and economic relations.
Future contacts at various levels were also discussed.
The conversation took place at New Zealand’s initiative.
