Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On the Acting Head of the Komi Republic.

Vyacheslav Gaizer briefed the President on the current socioeconomic situation in the region. In particular, he talked about implementing investment projects in the oil and gas sector and in timber processing, as well as the modernisation underway in the healthcare sector.

Mr Gaizer briefed Dmitry Medvedev on the social and economic situation in Komi Republic.

The meeting discussed decentralisation initiatives that would transfer some of the federal government’s powers to regional level. 

Modern infrastructure development in the housing and utilities sector was discussed at the State Council Presidium meeting held in Syktyvkar.
