Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
The situation in Ukraine, including the referendum to be held on March 16, 2014, on deciding the Republic of Crimea’s status, was the subject of discussion. Mr Putin emphasised that the decision to hold the referendum is in line with the provisions of international law and with the UN Charter.
The President and Mr Ban agreed to continue their contacts.
