Telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mark Rutte

July 22, 2014

As part of the series of recent phone calls between Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, the leaders exchanged views on measures taken to organise an international investigation of the Malaysia Airlines crash.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands assessed the President of Russia’s statement as a constructive contribution to these efforts. The two leaders gave a high assessment to the resolution passed by the UN Security Council on investigating the airline crash. Mr Putin and Mr Rutte discussed possible next steps in this direction.

The politicians noted the significance of the work conducted to identify and prepare transportation for the victims’ remains, stressing the importance of providing experts with direct and full access to the site of the tragedy for quickly starting the ICAA’s international investigation. In this regard, the leaders once again stressed the need for an immediate and absolute ceasefire in the conflict zone.
