The head of VTB Bank briefed Vladimir Putin on the establishment of the Post Bank, a joint project between the VTB Group and Russian Post.

The discussion focussed on the bank’s activities, particularly its work with the public.

Andrei Kostin briefed Vladimir Putin of VTB Bank’s 2014 performance results and its current activities.

Vladimir Putin met with VTB Bank Chairman and CEO Andrei Kostin. Mr Kostin briefed the President on the bank’s current activities, in particular, implementation of a number of programmes for lending to the economy and to Russian households. The bank’s activities in Ukraine were also discussed.

Mr Kostin briefed Vladimir Putin on the situation in lending to businesses working in the real sector of the economy, the bank’s international activities and work on developing a national payments system.

Mr Kostin briefed Vladimir Putin on the bank’s work with private customers and small businesses in flood-affected regions and also discussed a number of the bank’s infrastructure projects.

Mr Kostin briefed the President on the bank’s current activities, particularly the placement of VTB shares on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

Andrei Kostin reported to Vladimir Putin on financing the state defence order and issuing military mortgage loans.

During the meeting, which took place late the previous evening, Mr Kostin briefed Vladimir Putin on the services the bank offers to the public, including a new consumer lending scheme and expansion of the bank’s regional branch network. 

Among the issues discussed were measures implemented by the banking community in support of small and medium-sized business.
