Mr Ignatyev briefed the President on the socioeconomic situation in Chuvashia, including measures to eliminate queues in preschool education and regional programmes to support young families.
In particular, Mr Ignatyev reported that the demographic situation in the republic has improved: natural increase in 2013 was 1,027, and the tendency remains. The number of children in large families has grown by 11 percent in the past two years. Also, the Head of Chuvashia told the President that the republic has approved a total of 15 programmes, including measures to encourage young families, and took additional measures to support mortgage loans for teachers and healthcare workers with extra 4 percent being subsidised by the regional budget.
The real economy of the republic is also growing: in the first six months of the year, index of industrial production was 104.7 percent. The republic is also implementing federal housing programmes.
