Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of the French Republic Francois Hollande.
The leaders emphasised the importance of strict compliance by the conflicting parties with all provisions of the Measures to Implement the Minsk Agreements, which were adopted by the Contact Group on February 12 in Minsk and which are aimed at peaceful settlement of the situation in southeastern Ukraine.
Mr Putin, Ms Merkel and Mr Hollande confirmed the agreement they reached in Minsk to hold a top-level conference call in the Normandy format as soon as possible.
