Moscow Kremlin Museums received a number of cultural heritage items of significant historical value

Vladimir Putin participated in a ceremony presenting crown jewels, insignia, awards and commemorative medals of the Russian Empire and unique cultural heritage items exported from Russia in the 1920s and 1930s to the Moscow Kremlin Museums.

Particularly special among the returned items is the Order of St Andrew the Apostle, belonging to heir to the throne Pavel Petrovich – the future Emperor Paul I – as well as the chain and badge of the Order of the White Eagle of the Polish Kingdom, which was among the crown jewels of the Russian Empire between 1815 and 1831.

Over 100 items of high artistic and historical significance that have been returned to Russia are being given by Rosneft to the Moscow Kremlin Museums and will be part of the government segment of the Russian Museum Fund.

The ceremony was held in St Catherine Hall at the Grand Kremlin Palace.
