On November 23–24, a meeting on Russian anti-corruption law application took place in Moscow as part of the National Anti-Corruption Plan for 2016–2017.
The event was attended by deputy presidential plenipotentiary envoys to federal districts and representatives of regional heads and heads of departments in the federal and regional government bodies on preventing corruption and other wrongdoing.
Presidential Aide Yevgeny Shkolov greeted the meeting participants. Head of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Directorate Andrei Chobotov outlined the current agenda of implementing anti-corruption policy and improving the anti-corruption measures in the federal and regional government bodies.
First Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Buksman reported on the prosecution authorities’ efforts to monitor compliance with anti-corruption law. Other speakers included Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Measures Vasily Piskaryov, as well as representatives of the Government Executive Office, the Accounts Chamber, the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During subject-specific sessions, the participants discussed at length steps to improve the efficiency of the departments within the federal and regional government bodies on preventing corruption.
