Meeting of Commission for coordinating state agencies’ work on implementing international anti-corruption agreements

December 4, 2013, Moscow

Presidential Adviser Sergei Dubik chaired a meeting of the Commission for Coordination of Work of the Federal Executive Authorities and Other State Agencies in Fulfilling Russian Federation’s International Agreements on Fighting Corruption.

Representatives of federal executive authorities, higher judiciary authorities, the Prosecutor General’s Office, Accounts Chamber, Presidential Executive Office, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry took part in the meeting.

The Commission members discussed implementation of the Anti-Corruption Charter of Russian Business, which was drafted by Russia’s main national business community associations (the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Delovaya Rossiya and OPORA Russia), working closely together with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.

The meeting examined primary measures for implementing the provisions of the Agreement on Establishing the Interstate Anti-Corruption Council, which will strengthen regional cooperation between the  CIS member countries in countering corruption.

A substantive discussion also took place on the Council of Europe initiative to draft a convention to combat manipulation of sports results. A Russian interagency delegation is taking active part in this work. The draft convention is expected to be approved at a meeting of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers in 2014.

The meeting also examined the results of Russia’s work in the APEC Anti-Corruption Working Group in 2012–2013, including the results obtained during the Russian presidency of APEC in 2012.

Following the discussions, the Commission gave specific instructions for implementing the decisions taken.
