Vladimir Putin congratulated Tomislav Nikolic on his election to the post of President of the Republic of Serbia.
The congratulatory telegram reads, in part:
“Our nations are bound by time-tested mutually beneficial relations of friendship and cooperation. They are traditionally marked by intensive political dialogue and tight interaction in the trade and economic sphere and the cultural and humanitarian field.
I am certain that through our joint efforts, we will continue work to implement existing agreements, including the promotion of large-scale investment projects, and strengthen coordination in our approaches on the international arena for the good of our nations, in the interest of pan-European stability and security.
I wish you success in your work at this high, responsible post, and I wish the people of Serbia peace and prosperity.”
