President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Mr President, I would like to begin by thanking you for sharing with us this great holiday – victory over Nazism.
Relations between Russia and Egypt have been developing dynamically. They are based on a solid foundation of friendship, cooperation and a strong historical background. We know that Egypt and you as its leader are facing grand tasks.
I know you have inherited a complex economy, to put it mildly, but we will do everything to ensure that our joint efforts benefit both Russia and Egypt.
We are very happy to see you in Moscow.
President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi (retranslated): Thank you, Mr President,
I am very happy to be here with you on this wonderful day. Nobody can deny the role that Russia, the Soviet Union played in combatting Nazism, and it will remain in history.
I congratulate you with all my heart on this holiday.
We are very interested in strengthening relations with the Russian Federation and with you personally, Mr President. Together we can create and implement a lot. There are many areas we can cooperate in, including combatting terrorism and developing the economy.
Russian-Egyptian relations have a long history and they are becoming stronger every day.
Thank you once again, Mr President, for your invitation to attend today’s events and for everything you are doing for our country. This gratitude comes not only from me, but from the entire Egyptian people. We are speaking of the strong relations that unite us.
Thank you, Mr President.
Vladimir Putin: Thank you.
