Vladimir Putin instructed Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to draft a programme of measures for restoring the Novodevichy Convent to its historical appearance.
Together with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Mr Medvedev has been instructed to approve a project making the Novodevichy Convent complex a protected cultural heritage site of federal importance in accordance with documents on this issue approved by UNESCO in 2004.
Mr Medvedev has also been instructed to draw up a programme of measures for restoring the convent to its historical appearance.
