Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu at the initiative of the Israeli side.
The parties discussed in detail the sharp deterioration of the situation in the Gaza strip and the south of Israel. The Russian side stressed the need for a speedy termination of the armed confrontation that is leading to numerous casualties among the civilians.
The conversation also covered bilateral contacts and some other issues of mutual interest.
