Mr Turchak briefed Vladimir Putin on the socioeconomic situation in Pskov Region. Developing the region’s agriculture sector was also discussed.
In particular, work is underway in the region to build a pig-raising facility capable of raising 1 million pigs. The project’s second stage, due for completion in late 2015, will see construction of another four facilities with capacity of 240,000 pigs each.
Mr Turchak said that the regional budget’s revenue increased by 5 percent compared to the same period of 2013. Growth in the agriculture sector came to 27 percent.
