On October 15–16, Vladimir Putin will visit India

On October 15–16, the President will visit Goa in the Republic of India. During his visit, Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following the Russian-Indian programme, he will participate in the 8th BRICS Summit.

Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi plan to discuss a wide range of matters of bilateral relations, especially trade and economic ties.

The meeting will include the signing a number of bilateral documents.

The agenda of the BRICS Summit includes ways to strengthen the strategic partnership among the BRICS nations as one of the key international associations, and the development of multifaceted cooperation in this format. The leaders plan to discuss efforts against international terrorism and the Syria peace process; ways to stabilise the global economy and finance and to improve the global governance architecture.

At the end, the summit participants will adopt the Goa Declaration and Action Plan, which will determine the priorities for cooperation for the near future, and other important documents on economic, financial and humanitarian cooperation.

The programme also includes a joint panel with the Bay of Bengal regional forum (BIMSTEC) member states in the outreach format, and a meeting with the leadership of the BRICS Business Council.

During the summit, Vladimir Putin will have bilateral meetings with heads of state and government of the BRICS countries.
