Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The two leaders discussed key bilateral cooperation issues and integration cooperation within the newly-established Eurasian Economic Union. Several current international issues, including the crisis in Ukraine, were also discussed.
Mr Putin and Mr Nazarbayev reviewed their plans for bilateral contacts over the coming period.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev also took part in the conversation.
