Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The two presidents exchanged views on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and prospects for a settlement there. Mr Putin briefed Mr Nazarbayev on the mediation efforts Russia has undertaken in a bid to normalise the situation.
The two presidents also discussed bilateral cooperation matters. Both countries seek to continue strengthening their mutually advantageous ties, above all in trade and the economy. With Kazakhstan currently presiding in the Eurasian Economic Union, the two presidents also examined the timetable of upcoming events, including a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
