Vladimir Putin and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev got acquainted with production technology and product samples at the Diakont plant in St Petersburg.
The enterprise produces, in particular, robotic systems for diagnostics and repair, nuclear power plant control systems, and radiation-tolerant zoom lenses.
The two presidents were shown samples of electro-mechanical drives used in the automotive and aircraft industries, a complex of manipulator mechanisms for recovery of reactor long-term performance, and robotic devices for oil tank diagnostics.
Mr Putin and Mr Nazarbayev also visited an exhibition devoted to the projects in information technology and housing and utilities, as well as Russia’s participation in the WorldSkills Competition.
Diakont is a global leader in manufacturing high-tech equipment used to provide safety and boost efficiency in high-tech industries. The plant utilises an advanced technology of reliable determination of the state of hard-to-reach sections of oil and gas pipelines with the use of self-propelled diagnostic robots. The plant’s products are exported to Canada, the United States, France, Finland, China, India, and Japan, among others.
