Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi.
Mr Putin and Mr Renzi discussed in a constructive spirit current bilateral cooperation in various areas, including in the energy sector.
The two leaders exchanged views on the crisis in Ukraine and stressed in particular that all parties should respect the Geneva agreements reached on April 17.
