Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi.
Mr Putin asked Mr Renzi to pass on his words of sympathy to those who have suffered as a result of an earthquake in central Italy, and reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to provide the needed assistance in disaster relief operations. It was noted during the conversation that the emergency response agencies of the two countries maintain close working contacts.
Vladimir Putin and Matteo Renzi discussed a number of current issues pertaining to Russian-Italian mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas, focusing specifically on promising joint energy projects.
The President of Russia and the Italian Prime Minister also reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral contacts at various levels.
