Vladimir Putin sent his congratulations to President of Abkhazia Raul Khadjimba on Abkhazia’s national holiday – Independence Day.
In his message of congratulations, the President noted the considerable progress Abkhazia has made in establishing democratic state institutions, resolving current socioeconomic problems, and developing international ties.
Mr Putin gave a positive assessment of the way Russia and Abkhazia are developing their bilateral ties in a spirit of friendship and good-neighbourliness, and said he is confident that the two countries will continue to strengthen their alliance and strategic partnership in the interests of both peoples and with the aim of bolstering regional stability and security.
