The President signed an Executive Order On Early Termination of Powers of Sevastopol Governor.
Following Sevastopol Governor Sergei Menyailo’s request for early termination of his powers and in keeping with Federal Law On the General Principles of the Legislative (Representative) and Executive Bodies of State Power of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation, the President has ruled:
1. To accept the voluntary resignation of Sevastopol Governor Sergei Menyailo.
2. To appoint Dmitry Ovsyannikov Acting Governor of the City of Sevastopol until the elected Governor of Sevastopol takes office.
The Executive Order comes into effect upon signing.
