Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The conversation was at Russia’s initiative.
The two presidents discussed the legal framework of Russian-Turkmenistani bilateral relations, including humanitarian ties, in the aim of protecting the interests of people with dual citizenship living in Turkmenistan.
Mr Berdimuhamedov congratulated Mr Putin and the entire Russian people on the upcoming Russia Day national holiday.
Vladimir Putin accepted with thanks an invitation to visit Turkmenistan. The two countries’ diplomatic channels will set the dates of the visit.
