Vladimir Putin congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his victory in Turkmenistan’s presidential election.
“The election’s outcome confirms your high level of political influence, wide recognition for all you have accomplished while in office as president, and support for your policy of continued efforts to strengthen Turkmenistan’s economy and raise living standards,” Mr Putin said in his message of congratulations.
The Russian President highly assessed Mr Berdimuhamedov’s contribution to developing friendly bilateral relations and said he is confident that the two countries will continue constructive dialogue and fruitful cooperation on the current bilateral and international agendas in the interests of Russia and Turkmenistan and in the aim of ensuring stability and security in the Central Asian region.
