Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The two leaders exchanged warm season’s greetings.
Both sides reaffirmed their intention to further strengthen the relations of alliance and strategic partnership between Russia and Uzbekistan and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, above all in trade and the economy. Uzbekistan’s CIS presidency in 2020 was highly praised. Moreover, emphasis was placed on the importance of Uzbekistan being granted observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union.
