Alexander Bedritsky, Adviser to the President and Special Presidential Representative on Climate Issues, chaired a regular meeting of the Presidential Executive Office’s Interdepartmental Working Group on Climate Change and Sustainable Development.
The meeting covered the results of the Russian delegation’s participation in talks on the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change that took place in Bonn, Germany, in May 2016. The main objective of the May talks was to take decisions on the drafting of documents intended to outline the methods, mechanisms and conditions for fulfilling the Paris Agreement on climate change.
The meeting participants discussed further preparations for the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, to be held in Marrakesh (Morocco) in November 2016.
Members of the working group also exchanged opinions on the outcome of several international climate-related events.
