Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron at the French side’s initiative.
The leaders continued their exchange of views on issues pertaining to Syria, mainly in the context of the sharp increase of tension in the Idlib zone. Vladimir Putin told the President of France about steps taken to fight terrorists in Syria’s northwest. In addition, the humanitarian situation in that area was discussed.
The President of Russia said that all current aspects of a Syrian settlement are to be substantively discussed in Moscow at the Russia-Turkey summit meeting to take place in the coming days.
