President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte, at the Filipino side’s initiative.
The two leaders exchanged greetings on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Philippines, marked this year, and pointed out the traditionally friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
They also discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening trade, economic, scientific, technological and humanitarian cooperation.
Special attention was given to the efforts to contain the coronavirus infection. It was agreed to develop cooperation between the relevant agencies, including regarding the supply of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine to the Philippines.
