Russian-German interstate consultations took place at the Kremlin.
Vladimir Putin met with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel before the talks began.
Government delegations from both countries took part in the consultations, which discussed bilateral cooperation prospects in trade and the economy, the humanitarian sector, science and technology, machine-building and the energy sector.
Following the talks, the President and the Federal Chancellor witnessed the signing of a package of cooperation agreements on the economy, energy, transport, environmental protection, geology, and use of sub-soil resources. Also signed were a joint declaration on simplifying visa formalities for people taking part in Russian-German youth exchanges and a memorandum of cooperation on professional education.
Mr Putin and Ms Merkel then held a joint news conference.
