Vladimir Putin sent greetings to Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, on his election as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
The message reads, in part:
“The decision of the party congress fully reaffirms your high political authority and signifies the recognition of your service to the country.
We greatly appreciate our strategic partnership with Cuba. I hope that our joint efforts will ensure further development of our constructive bilateral dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation across all areas and for the benefit of our friendly nations.”
Vladimir Putin also extended his birthday greetings to Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez and wished him good health, happiness, prosperity and success in his presidential and partisan duties.
