Vladimir Putin congratulated Rumen Radev on his election to the office of President of Bulgaria.
Mr Putin noted the considerable potential for continuing to develop Russian-Bulgarian relations, which are based on centuries-old traditions of friendship and cultural and spiritual closeness.
The President said he is sure that joint efforts can give a new boost to bilateral political dialogue and expand constructive cooperation in various areas for the benefit of both fraternal peoples.
Mr Putin wished Mr Radev success in his high office.
