Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the initiative of the UAE side. The President of the UAE was interested in hearing the assessments of the situation in Russia in connection with an attempted mutiny on June 24.

After receiving exhaustive information, the leader of the UAE voiced his full support for the actions of the Russian leadership.

The two presidents also discussed certain topical issues of further expanding cooperation between both countries, with due regard for the results of the June 16 talks at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Vladimir Putin congratulated Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and all UAE citizens on the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.
