In the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin and President of Ukraine Vladimir Yanukovych chaired a meeting of the Russian-Ukrainian Interstate Commission.
The meeting participants discussed the most important issues in bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the implementation of promising and mutually beneficial projects, primarily in energy, transportation, space and agriculture, as well as investment and inter-regional cooperation.
The agenda also included developing dialogue in culture, education and science, as well as interaction within the CIS and current international issues.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a package of bilateral documents, in particular, on resuming mass production of the An-124 aircraft, building a transport link across the Kerch Strait, cooperation in shipbuilding and the aerospace industry, and combatting drug trafficking. Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine signed supplements to the gas contracts concluded on January 19, 2009.
Before the meeting of the interstate commission, the presidents of Russia and Ukraine met in a narrow format.
